If you are a dedicated follower of Arcade, you may have noticed it’s been a little quiet around the blog lately. Sometimes kids get sick, family visits, or life just get in the way – it’s a reality of trying to generate regular content while continuing to wear so many other hats. However, this time, there’s an exciting reason for the lapse in posts (and podcast episodes.) Mary’s been hard at work, building our new Proposal Tracker App.
We have helped our clients with web development since our beginnings, and we have also long offered help with Microsoft Access development, or small snippets of custom VBA code to accomplish some task in Microsoft Office.
We’ve been aware for a long time, though of the close knit relationship between our clients’ processes and their software.
Think, for a minute, about how much of your workflow moves around the software you use. How many of your daily ‘to do’ items work the way they do because that’s the way your software works?
We’ve been helping companies to build better processes for the life of our business, but at every turn, software gets in our way. Sometimes, software just doesn’t exist that does what we are trying to do, other times clients are limited to a particular tool that won’t do what we want it to. The truth is that it’s hard to change a vital business process to begin with, and when our software works against that change, it’s nearly impossible.
It’s no secret that Mary’s background is in technology, and to keep up with the latest and greatest trends in development, she completed a certificate program in C# at UW last year. If you’ve done any coaching work with Jason, you know about his predilection for massive, hard to understand and use but brilliantly executed Excel sheets. Over the coming months, we will be combining our skills to create a true Voltron mashup of our talents, releasing our own custom built project management software suite.
We’re going to build out one module at a time, starting with our Proposal Tracking System. We’ll be releasing a series of mobile apps and browser desktop applications, each performing a singular function but working together from an integrated database, which will allow you to implement only the pieces you want, and access them in whatever way is most efficient for your team.
Our Proposal Tracking app is in beta right now, and Jason is testing it out, so if you see him, don’t hesitate to ask for a demo! Contact us today and let us know which module you’d like to see next, or to ask about pricing to develop a custom app for you!
