Just a quick post today – I’m working on a tight deadline on another new project that we’ll be announcing in the next few days (watch this space!)
I wanted to announce our new ‘Deep Dive into Metrics’ session as it goes live on the website today.
Our Forward Coaching performance appraisal method has been making waves lately, but we’re getting the same feedback on a regular basis – clients are ready to make the shift to using metrics to understand their business and team members, but they aren’t sure what to measure or how to measure it.
This has been a conundrum for us for some time, because we know that building strong metrics is a process that deserves its own training course, but building that course is a tall order. Our clients range enormously in size, in structure and process. Good advice for one client might lead another entirely in the wrong direction – the best metrics are highly individualized!
So, we rolled up our sleeves and built the RAILS method. We asked the question: What guidance would apply to *any* good metrics, for any company? What we came up with is a series of 5 criteria for consideration of building any measuring tool for your business.
Still, at the end of the day, we felt like teaching a session based on RAILS and similar ‘generic’ metric data wasn’t going to answer the questions that our clients are walking out of Forward Coaching with. So we decided to build a new kind of session – a strategy workshop session.
This isn’t like our other training sessions, where we show up with a class to teach. Instead, we’re going to sit down and work through your organization, asking the questions and refining the answers until you have a solid plan of action for implementing RAILS metrics in your organization.
We tell clients that our 4 hour ‘Forward Coaching’ session isn’t just an introduction to a product we’re trying to sell. You come out of the session with a deeper understanding of the working parts of any performance appraisal, and the logic underpinning the system we built, so that you can use part of it, all of it, or none of it and still gain valuable insight from the session. In the same way, after a ‘Deep Dive into Metrics’ session, you’ll have a better understanding of how to zero in on your most important data, how to actually measure it, how to get your team on board (because no leader was ever able to truly measure an organization without helping hands from the team members who are turning the crank), and what to do with that data once it’s in your hands. You’ll walk away from this session better able to undertake the entire process all on your own, but of course, you don’t have to! If you’re looking for help building out your RAILS metrics, this session will give us everything we need to put a plan of action in your hands and help you carry it out.
(Coming soon, a new podcast episode and another big announcement! Wheels are turning at Arcade this month!)
